Cameron Park Zoo

Carleen Bright Arboretum

  • Covering 16 acres, eight of which are devoted to botanical gardens, the Carleen Bright Arboretum features a Monarch Way-station, pond, babbling waterfall, rose garden, and more. Check them out if you're looking for a natural retreat in Woodway, or if you need a wedding/reception spot!

Dr Pepper Museum & Free enterprise Center

  • Is a Mr. Pibb Museum okay? No, it's not. Featuring interactive, hands-on exhibits, gallery talks, and gallery activities for the whole family, the Dr Pepper Museum tells the story of every Texan's favorite drink, and the story of Waco. Grab a Dr. Pepper Float in the Soda Fountain (and a hot dog!) when you finish your visit.

Mayborn Museum

  • Baylor's own first-class on-campus museum, the Mayborn has an impressive listing of traveling exhibits, plus a permanent collection, plus a historic village, plus a kid- and family-friendly interactive, hands-on set of exhibits exploring animals, sounds, textures, and history! The Mayborn's membership program provides a ton of value, as well.

Texas Ranger Hall of Fame & Museum

  • The official historical center of the Texas Rangers (not the 2nd-best MLB team in Texas kind of Rangers), the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame & Museum tells the story of the legendary law force, with exhibits, artifacts, and archives related to their service.

Texas Sports Hall of Fame

  • Also home to the Texas Tennis Hall of Fame and the Texas High School Football Hall of Fame, the Texas Sports Hall of Fame is a 35,000 square-foot exhibit space celebrating the best of the Texas Athlete. After inheriting the collection of the Nolan Ryan Museum in Alvin, the Texas Sports Hall of Fame is a must-visit for the Texas Sports fan in your life. Come on, do a sports fan a solid and let them spend a couple of hours here.

Waco Mammoth Site

  • Part of the National Park Service, the Waco Mammoth Site "represents the nation’s only recorded discovery of a nursery herd of Columbian mammoths." Since the discovery of a large fossil in 1978, Baylor scientists and archaeologists have spent thousands of hours uncovering the site, preserving it for visitors like you. Guided tours are available.
